Basketball Game Preview: Homer Pelicans vs. Minden Crimson Tide

The Homer Pelicans are taking a road trip to challenge the Minden Crimson Tide at 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Minden is hoping to do what North Webster couldn't on Monday: put an end to Homer's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Homer walked away with a 55-44 victory over North Webster.

Meanwhile, Minden hadn't done well against Airline recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. Minden blew past Airline 56-30. The Crimson Tide have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Minden's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.6 points. As for Homer, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Homer barely slipped by Minden when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 50-49. Will Homer repeat their success, or does Minden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
