Towanda dropped their record down to 8-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Wellsboro Hornets by a score of  1-0. Having soared to a lofty 14  runs in the game before, the Black Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
As for Wellsboro, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7. Those one runs were actually the fewest they have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
For Wellsboro's part, Towanda's batters probably weren't too happy with  Maxwell Mascho, who pitched a no hitter  and racked up 11 Ks (he gave up  a single walk). Mascho has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in four consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Wellsboro saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Griffin Morral, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  RBI. That  stolen base marked the first that  Morral has  snagged this season.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Towanda will take on Benton at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Wellsboro, they will square off against Athens at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7  runs per game  this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
