Football Recap: Lafayette Comes Up Short

If Lafayette was riding high fresh off their 42-19 takedown of Caledonia last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Commodores lost 41-21 to the Pontotoc Warriors on Thursday. The Commodores were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Although Lafayette took the loss, they still got scores from Kamaron Pritchard, McLain Corban, and Justice Vaughn.

Lafayette dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pontotoc, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Lafayette has already played their next game, a 35-28 defeat against Cleveland Central on the 14th. As for Pontotoc, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-0 win against Lanier on the 14th.
