Basketball Recap: North Paulding Comes Up Short

North Paulding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt an 84-53 defeat at the hands of the Etowah Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Eagles are ranked 11th).

North Paulding's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Etowah, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Paulding will take on Wheeler at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheeler knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully North Paulding likes a good challenge. As for Etowah, they will square off against Marietta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marietta has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
