Softball Recap: Stanton Buffaloes vs. Alpine Bucks        
        
		
            
 Stanton lost against Alpine back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. The Stanton Buffaloes took  an  11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alpine Bucks. Stanton has not had much luck with Alpine recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
  ABBYGAIL CAMPOS made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI.  AUBREY VILLA was another key contributor,  going 3-for-3 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Stanton was hitting in the alleys and  finished the game with four  doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alpine only hit  no.
 On Alpine's side,  Kody Hawkins made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. Hawkins has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Hawkins was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, a  triple,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Zariah Galvan was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Emyliana Hernandez, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases.
 Stanton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Alpine, they pushed their record up to 18-15 with that  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home.
 Stanton will take on Hermleigh at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Stanton is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.5  runs per game  this season. As for Alpine, they will be playing at home against Kermit at 3:00  p.m.  on Saturday. One thing working in Alpine's favor is that they have posted big  run totals  in their last nine contests.
