Softball Game Preview: Suwannee Bulldogs vs. Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles

The Suwannee Bulldogs will face off against the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Suwannee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand West Nassau a 1-0 shutout. The game was the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Warriors on their field since May 3, 2017.

Meanwhile, Paxon School For Advanced Studies came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Seahawks as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Hayley Hinds was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sariyah Jackson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Maleah Rouse, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Paxon School For Advanced Studies always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Walton only posted an OBP of .238.

Paxon School For Advanced Studies pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Suwannee, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
