Basketball Recap: Anderson Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Anderson had won two straight games and Damien King did his part to make it three on Tuesday. The Anderson Indians took their matchup with ease, bagging an 86-52 win over the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils for which the team can thank King, who almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine rebounds. His big performance that evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Another player making a difference was Don Bowling, who went 9-for-11 en route to 18 points and six boards. What's more, he posted two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Indianapolis Shortridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore TJ Davis went 6-for-9 to rack up 16 points. Thanks to that strong game, Davis now owns an excellent 56.3% shooting accuracy. Jalen Yates was another key player, going 5-for-11 on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Anderson's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-13.

Anderson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 84-68 win against Kokomo on the 21st. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-57 loss against Indianapolis Washington on the 20th.
