Softball Recap: Concord Takes a Loss

Concord was the 9-1 winner over Washington when they last played one another back in April of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Concord Bears fell 5-1 to the Washington Huskies on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Bears have lost by exactly four runs.

Aislynn Newlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 13 hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Concord is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3. As for Washington, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Looking ahead, Concord will face off against Lower Lake at 11:00 a.m. on March 22nd. As for Washington, they will take on Miramonte at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
