Baseball Recap: Kansas City East Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Nodaway Valley Co-Op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt]

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bishop Miege, Kansas City East Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] with a sharp 13-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Nolan Peterson and Chase Morris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Peterson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Morris didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Peterson a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Peterson went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Morris scored a run and stole three bases while going 4-for-5. Kansas City East Christian Academy is undefeated when Morris posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Quintin Dailey was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grant Henson, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Kansas City East Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nodaway Valley co-op [West Nodaway/Nodaway-Holt] only posted a batting average of .176.
