Basketball Recap: Forest Skates Past Indian Rocks Christian with Ease

Forest had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 40-point drubbing they dealt Indian Rocks Christian on Saturday. The Forest Wildcats blew past the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles 62-22. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

It was another big night for Janaina Wess, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 16 times she's played. Jiyah Hamilton was another key player, going 5 for 10 on her way to 14 points.

Forest was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Makayla Kennedy and Alexis Beswetherick certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Kennedy posted five points, while Beswetherick had two points and five rebounds.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Forest, bringing their record for this year to 7-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Forest will take on Santaluces in a holiday battle at at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Indian Rocks Christian and Seffner Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
