Softball Game Preview: C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons vs. Hunt Warriors

C.B. Aycock has gone a perfect 10-0 against Hunt recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Golden Falcons will challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. C.B. Aycock will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

C.B. Aycock took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Fike with a sharp 22-7 victory. The win continues a trend for the Golden Falcons in their matchups with the Demons: they've now won eight in a row.

Haylee Ezzell and Brooklyn Davis did most of the damage at the plate: Ezzell went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double, while Davis went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four hits gave Ezzell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Tortual, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

C.B. Aycock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Hunt lost 18-5 to SouthWest Edgecombe on Wednesday.

Hunt has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for C.B. Aycock, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Everything went C.B. Aycock's way against Hunt in their previous meeting back in March, as C.B. Aycock made off with a 22-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
