Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Christian Skates Past Coosa Valley Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cornerstone Christian). They blew past the Coosa Valley Academy Rebels, posting an 81-29 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Chargers as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Zeke Adams had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Hewitt, who posted 14 points.

Cornerstone Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Cornerstone Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Coosa Valley Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will welcome Banks Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coosa Valley Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bessemer Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bessemer Academy will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Coosa Valley Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
