Baseball Game Preview: MMI Preparatory School vs. Mountain View Eagles

MMI Preparatory School will take on the Mountain View Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. MMI Preparatory School has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, MMI Preparatory School came up short against Hanover Area and fell 11-7. MMI Preparatory School has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nick Pantages made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Meanwhile, Mountain View had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Chargers.

Josh Miller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Mountain View is undefeated when Miller posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Holtsmaster, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mountain View's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for MMI Preparatory School, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. MMI Preparatory School has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mountain View struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

MMI Preparatory School suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Mountain View in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can MMI Preparatory School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
