Baseball Recap: Lynn Classical Comes Up Short

If Lynn Classical was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Everett on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams lost 12-1 to the Reading Memorial Rockets on Saturday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Rams, who until this game were averaging 3.29 runs allowed.

Lynn Classical saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Figueroa, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Lynn Classical's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Reading Memorial, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Lynn Classical will be playing in front of their home fans against Chelsea at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Reading Memorial, they will head out on the road to challenge Woburn Memorial at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rockets 1.8, the Tanners 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
