Baseball Recap: Aiden Parker Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Northside - Jacksonville

While South Central's win against Northside - Jacksonville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. South Central's pitcher stepped up to hand Northside - Jacksonville a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Monarchs: they've now won eight in a row.

Northside - Jacksonville's batters probably weren't too happy with Brody Brannan, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave Brannan a new career-high.

At the plate, South Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Parker, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Another was Rahkeem Williams, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

South Central's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Northside - Jacksonville, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

South Central has already played their next contest, a 12-1 victory against Princeton on the 28th. As for Northside - Jacksonville, they will face off against Lejeune at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Lejeune has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.4 runs per game on average), something Northside - Jacksonville will no doubt try to take advantage of.
