Basketball Game Preview: Central Catholic Raiders vs. East Union Lancers

Central Catholic has gone 9-1 against East Union recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Central Catholic Raiders will face off against the East Union Lancers at 7:30 p.m. Central Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Last Friday, Central Catholic blew past Oakdale, posting a 61-32 victory.

It was another big night for Jordan Magana, who went 8 of 14 en route to 21 points. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Manjot Mann, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 11 points.

Central Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday East Union sidestepped Patterson for a 43-41 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.

Central Catholic's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for East Union, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Everything went Central Catholic's way against East Union in their previous matchup back in January, as Central Catholic made off with a 54-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
