Baseball Recap: Corning's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Orland, Corning was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Oroville Tigers get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cardinals needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Casey Long was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Matthew Jimenez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

With the victory, Corning broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-11-1. As for Oroville, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Corning will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
