Basketball Recap: Tampa Prep Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tampa Prep can now relate to. They were dealt a 52-16 defeat at the hands of the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders on Thursday. The Terrapins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Marauders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Emme Dalhoff was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 12 points, nine assists, and nine steals for Clearwater Central Catholic. Dalhoff is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Comfort, who went 6 for 9 to rack up 15 points and three steals.

Tampa Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Tampa Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they will face off against Northside Christian on Saturday. Clearwater Central Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.
