Baseball Preview: Nipmuc Regional Warriors vs. Framingham Flyers
The Nipmuc Regional Warriors will square off against the Framingham Flyers at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Nipmuc Regional will be strutting in after a victory while Framingham will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Nipmuc Regional turned things around against Sutton on Wednesday. They never let the Sammies/Suzies get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Warriors have won four matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Nipmuc Regional got a great performance from Dylan Muccini as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Muccini also allowed no hits, which is notable because the Warriors are undefeated when he allows at most two hits, but 2-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Johnny Desmond was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Sean Burchard was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Nipmuc Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Framingham's offense. They lost 9-0 to Weymouth on Wednesday. The Flyers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Framingham's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Nipmuc Regional, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
