Baseball Recap: Washougal's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Washougal got themselves on the board against Hockinson on Wednesday, but Hockinson never followed suit. They skirted past the Hawks 1-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Not much got past Tyler Thompson, who gave up just seven hits to keep Hockinson off the board. Thompson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Washougal is 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Washougal's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nash Neumann, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Washougal, bringing their record up to 8-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Hockinson, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-13 record.

Washougal will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
