Basketball Recap: Northwest Guilford Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Northwest Guilford lost to Grimsley back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Northwest Guilford Vikings put the hurt on the Grimsley Whirlies with a sharp 57-37 win. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Shyla Simms and Alyssa Graves certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Simms posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and six assists, while Graves scored 12 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Simms posted two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Xariah Simmons was another key player, putting up four points.

Northwest Guilford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season. Grimsley's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.

Northwest Guilford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-53 loss against Northern Guilford on the 21st. As for Grimsley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 55-41 victory against Ardrey Kell on the 25th.
