Baseball Game Preview: Masuk Panthers vs. New Milford Green Wave

The Masuk Panthers will head out to square off against the New Milford Green Wave at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Masuk easily dispatched Notre Dame Prep on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Panthers fell just short of Oxford by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, New Milford faced Bethel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Green Wave fell 6-2 to the Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Green Wave couldn't push the score so high this time.

John Coniglio was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

The defeat snapped New Milford's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-3 record. As for Masuk, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Masuk skirted past New Milford 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
