Baseball Recap: Bald Knob Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Friday. Bald Knob fell just short of Quitman by a score of 7-6. If Bald Knob was looking for revenge after losing 20-4 to Quitman when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chance Passmore was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Bald Knob: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Garrett Peace also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Bald Knob now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Quitman, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bald Knob will host Episcopal at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.85 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Quitman, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Mayflower at 4:30 p.m.
