Houston came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Grand Meadow Superlarks, falling 3-0. The Hurricanes' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-8, 25-19.

Houston's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emmie Melbo, who had 13 digs. Another player making a difference was Olivia Yohe, who had six digs and two aces.

Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Grand Meadow, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Houston is set to square off against their familiar foe Schaeffer Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Grand Meadow will take on rival Kingsland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
