There's no place like home for Springfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Taylorville Tornadoes 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Senators in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won four in a row.

Mia Volpert made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
