Recap: Canyon del Oro Dorados vs. Mica Mountain Thunderbolts

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Canyon del Oro Dorados walked away with it. They strolled past the Thunderbolts with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 23-7. Canyon del Oro's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Kayden Luke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 169 yards and three touchdowns.

The team's defense also helped out by holding Mica Mountain to a paltry 219 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Canyon del Oro's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out five times before it was all said and done. Mica Mountain's QB won't forget Evan Greer anytime soon given Greer sacked him twice.

Canyon del Oro has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 13-0 record. As for Mica Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.

Canyon del Oro will head out on the road to face off against Yuma Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Yuma Catholic is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Mica Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
