Softball Recap: Alexander Gets the Win

Alexander came out on top against Attica on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Trojans walked away with a 12-7 win over the Blue Devils. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Emily Pietrzykowski made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Pietrzykowski was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Faith Goodenbury was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Morgan Boyce also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Alexander's record is now 7-5. As for Attica, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Alexander will take on Batavia at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Attica, they will face off against Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
