Birch Run and Corunna are an even 3-3 against one another since August of 2017, but not for long. The Panthers will face off against the Cavaliers at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Birch Run is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Tuesday, Birch Run made easy work of Montrose and carried off a 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-21, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Corunna suffered their biggest defeat since September 4th on Wednesday. They came up short against Lake Fenton, falling 3-0. The Cavaliers have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

While Corunna was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 26-24, 25-14.

Birch Run will have to contain Emily Reichert as she made an impact in Corunna's last game. She had seven digs and one assist.

Birch Run's victory bumped their record up to 18-5-1. As for Corunna, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10-3.

Birch Run was able to grind out a solid win over Corunna when the teams last played back in October of 2021, winning 2-0. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
