Basketball Recap: Leland Takes a Loss

Leland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 67-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Simmons Blue Devils. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cubs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-44 two weeks ago.

Kenzavius Lundy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Simmons, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. Lundy is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games he's played. Prentavis Madison was another key player, as he made all 6 shots he took racking up 18 points.

Leland's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Simmons, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-14 record this season.

Leland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 36-35 defeat against Shaw on the 31st. Simmons has also already played their next contest, a 63-60 win against West Tallahatchie on the 31st.
