Basketball Recap: West Point-Beemer Comes Up Short

West Point-Beemer has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 66-31 loss at the hands of the Minden Whippets on Friday. The Cadets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-11.

West Point-Beemer's loss came despite strong showings from Mia Hunke and Nevaeh Weborg. Hunke posted nine points and seven rebounds, while Weborg scored six points.

Mattie Kamery continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Minden, shooting 71% from the field on her way to 27 points and eight boards. Kamery's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Kinsie Land was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.

West Point-Beemer's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Minden, they pushed their record up to 24-2 with the victory, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither West Point-Beemer nor Minden have any future games scheduled.
