Softball Game Preview: Franklin Panthers vs. Santee Falcons

The Franklin Panthers will square off against the Santee Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Franklin is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Mendez with a sharp 19-7 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their 13-game losing streak.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Santee and Diego Rivera meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Falcons took a 24-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 2-17. As for Santee, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Franklin skirted past Santee 2-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
