Recap: Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks vs. San Marin Mustangs
The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks lost against the San Marin Mustangs back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Tamalpais lost to San Marin at home by a decisive 42-28 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tamalpais in their matchups with San Marin: they've now lost four in a row.
Defeat or not, Tamalpais got some senior leadership from Jake Son who rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries and Braden Young who threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Son was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Dominic Ingrassia continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for San Marin, throwing for 277 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Wesley Timmel was another key contributor, picking up 84 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Tamalpais' loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for San Marin, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Tamalpais will head out on the road to face off against Terra Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Terra Linda will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 646th, while Tamalpais is ranked 201st). As for San Marin, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Capital Christian at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Capital Christian's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches.
