Basketball Game Preview: Plaza Heights Christian Academy Lions vs. Overland Christian Eagle

Plaza Heights Christian Academy is 9-1 against Overland Christian since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Eagle at 7:00 p.m. Plaza Heights Christian Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Thursday, Plaza Heights Christian Academy blew past Christian Learning Center, posting a 58-24 victory. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.

Luke Jones had another great game (as he tends to do), putting up 11 points along with eight boards and six assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kingston Jones, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points and six rebounds.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Overland Christian hadn't done well against Heartland recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Eagle put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 54-29 win.

Overland Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Overland Christian in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 41-30. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Eagle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
