Preview: Penns Grove Red Devils vs. Schalick Cougars
Penns Grove has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Schalick Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Penns Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Last Friday, Penns Grove lost to Deptford at home by a decisive 70-51 margin. Penns Grove has not had much luck with Deptford recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mekhi Ballard, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Giomar Conrad, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Schalick strolled past Gateway Regional with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 61-47. The victory was just what Schalick needed coming off of a 68-42 loss in their prior game.
Penns Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Schalick, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Penns Grove strolled past Schalick when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 70-56. Will Penns Grove repeat their success, or does Schalick have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
