Recap: Johnson Jaguars vs. SA Roosevelt Rough Riders

The Johnson Jaguars were handed a three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against the SA Roosevelt Rough Riders on Tuesday. Johnson took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 62-29 win over SA Roosevelt. Given Johnson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while SA Roosevelt is ranked 965th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Johnson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mackenzie Donald, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Taryn Johnson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.

Johnson now has a winning record of 16-15. As for SA Roosevelt, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-23.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Brandeis the next time they take the court. Johnson will host Brandeis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while SA Roosevelt will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
