It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lafayette Central Catholic can now relate to. They took a 49-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Borden Braves on Saturday. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Lafayette Central Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carley Barrett, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. Barrett has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Brooke Thompson was another key player, putting up eight points.

It was another big night for Ava Wheeler, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards for Borden. Another player making a difference was Riley Rarick, who posted 16 points and six rebounds.

Lafayette Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 25-5. As for Borden, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-5.
