Preview: Federal Way Eagles vs. Tahoma Bears
Federal Way is 0-6 against Tahoma since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Federal Way Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Tahoma Bears at 7:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Federal Way has struggled recently with 12 losses in a row, while Tahoma will arrive with nine straight wins.
Federal Way suffered their biggest loss since December 20, 2023 on Monday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 55-31 walloping at the hands of Kentwood. While losing is never fun, Federal Way can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 288th, while Kentwood is ranked 64th).
Meanwhile, Tahoma put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 59-25 victory over Kennedy Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Tahoma has posted since December 6, 2023.
Federal Way dropped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road. As for Tahoma, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.
Federal Way was dealt a bruising 68-21 defeat at the hands of Tahoma in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Federal Way avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
