Basketball Recap: Laurel Panthers vs. Columbus HomeSchool Hawks
The Laurel Panthers pushed their score all the way to 57 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Columbus HomeSchool on the road and fell 90-57. Laurel was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-23.
Leading Columbus HomeSchool to victory were Kaden Greenlee and David Cline. Greenlee scored 21 points along with two steals, while Cline dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds. Greenlee has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Perkins, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Laurel and nudges their season record down to 11-7. As for Columbus HomeSchool, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Laurel will head out on the road to challenge the at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Columbus HomeSchool, they will face off against the Bluehawks at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Bluegrass United will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
