Football Game Preview: East Newton Patriots vs. Seneca Indians

East Newton hasn't had much luck against Seneca recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Patriots will take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. Seneca took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on East Newton, who comes in off a win.

East Newton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Hollister by a score of 21-12.

The critical scores for East Newton came from Caden Youngblood, River Enlow, and Ethan Bales.

East Newton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August.

East Newton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Youngblood and Enlow. Enlow also rushed for 163 rushing yards, which is notable because East Newton is 2-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 0-7 otherwise. Another thorn in Hollister's side was Coltin Noone, who picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Seneca was just a hair shy of victory last Friday and fell 29-28 to Lamar. The matchup marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

East Newton's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8. As for Seneca, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.

East Newton was dealt a bruising 56-7 defeat at the hands of Seneca when the teams last played back in October. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
