Eagle is 9-1 against Centennial since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Eagle Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Centennial Patriots at 7:30 p.m.

Eagle is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Owyhee, who was ranked first at the time (Eagle was ranked 21st). Eagle came up short against Owyhee on Thursday, falling 58-36. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Centennial entered their tilt with Borah on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Lions 71-42. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 28 points or more this season.

Eagle better keep an eye on Gabe Eddins. He was instrumental in Centennial's win, going 6 for 12 on his way to 18 points and three steals. Eddins' evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Knudson, who posted 12 points.

Centennial was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Centennial's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Eagle, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Eagle came up short against Centennial in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 56-51. Can Eagle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
