Recap: Skyline Grizzlies vs. Rigby Trojans
On Thursday, the Skyline Grizzlies faced the Rigby Trojans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Skyline was beaten by Rigby 63-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Skyline has scored all season.
Skyline's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexa Haacke, who scored five points.
Kambree Barber continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rigby, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barber has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Abbie Scott, who scored five points along with three steals.
Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Rigby, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
Skyline will take on Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hillcrest is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Rigby, they will head out on the road to challenge Thunder Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Thunder Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Rigby is ranked fifth).
