Soccer Game Preview: Raytown vs. Fort Osage

Raytown hasn't had much luck against Fort Osage recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bluejays will look to defend their home pitch against the Indians at 6:30 p.m. Raytown has given up an average of 5.1 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Raytown is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to Grain Valley. While losing is never fun, Raytown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri soccer rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while Grain Valley are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, Fort Osage entered their tilt with Belton on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The result was nothing new for Fort Osage, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

Fort Osage's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three contests. As for Raytown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
