Volleyball Recap: Hilmar Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Hilmar's victory against Hughson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellowjackets narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Huskies 2-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellowjackets, who have now won three contests in a row.

Alyssa Colston paced Hilmar's offense, picking up nine kills. Colston got some help from Stella Pires and her 17 assists. Pires was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Hilmar's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Hughson, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilmar is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Turlock at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hughson, they will head out to face off against Argonaut at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
