With a playoff win on the line, South River rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Old Mill Patriots a 3-0 shutout. Considering South River have won seven matchups by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

South River is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Old Mill, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
