Softball Recap: Smithfield Sentinels vs. East Providence Townies        
        
		
            
 Smithfield had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the East Providence Townies by a score of  13-9. That's more bragging rights for Smithfield, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Madison Kennedy was  incredible,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was  Skyla Oliveira, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 On East Providence's side,  Emma Boisseau and  Trinity Provencher stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Boisseau  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4, while  Provencher  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of  Shelby Quinn, who  went 2-for-3 with two  doubles and two  RBI.
 Even though they lost, East Providence was hitting in the alleys and  finished the game with four  doubles. That's the most  doubles they've managed all season.
 The  victory  got Smithfield back to even at 6-6. As for East Providence, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smithfield will take on Ponaganset at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for East Providence, they will stay at home for another  game and welcome Moses Brown at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. East Providence is facing Moses Brown at the right time seeing as Moses Brown is stuck on  a  five-game losing streak.
