Basketball Recap: Lift for Life Academy Triumphs

Fans were treated to a battle of the Hawks on Saturday. Lift for Life Academy managed a 53-49 victory over Jackson South Side.

Jackson South Side's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aydison Dilworth, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Dilworth is becoming a predictor of Jackson South Side's success: when she posts at least ten boards the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when she doesn't). Zandria Cohill was another key player, shooting 71% from the field en route to 10 points and three steals.

Lift for Life Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Jackson South Side, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Lift for Life Academy will challenge Miami Country Day at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson South Side, they will square off against University School of Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
