Baseball Recap: Heritage Academy Comes Up Short

Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Ajo Red Raiders, falling 14-4.

Carson Grover made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Grover is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bourne Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ajo, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy will venture away from home to square off against New Way Learning Academy at 4:30 p.m. on March 27th. As for Ajo, they will head out to face off against Holy Family Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Ajo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
