Baseball Recap: Burlington City Comes Up Short

Moorestown Friends hit Burlington City with a seven-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils came up short against the Foxes, falling 13-4. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Foxes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Carmelo Thomspon was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Liam Bolton also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Burlington City's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Moorestown Friends, they moved to 2-8 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Coming up, Burlington City will be playing at home against Mastery at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Moorestown Friends, they will head out to take on Riverside at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
