Baseball Recap: Combs Takes a Loss

Combs lost against Poston Butte last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Combs came up short against Poston Butte, falling 12-3. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Steven Holowell was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Combs hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Combs' loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for Poston Butte, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Combs will challenge Crismon at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Crismon will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Combs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Poston Butte, they will take on Bradshaw Mountain at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
