Softball Recap: Bear River Wins Going Away Against Colfax

Bear River got themselves on the board against Colfax on Monday, but Colfax never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Falcons. Considering the Bruins have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

AnaMarin Hemings was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Averie Lopez was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Adalaide Mason was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Bear River's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8. As for Colfax, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bear River will square off against rival Marysville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Colfax is set to face off against their familiar foe Oakmont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
